Environment America is hiring a digital campaign advocate with sharp writing skills, savvy strategic ability, and a talent for using social media to help expand our Clean Energy campaign.

 

This position is an exciting way to organize and motivate people online.  Our online campaigns reach tens of thousands of people and spread the word about making change.  This is a position for a person ready to turn online skills into political action.

 

We can meet all of our energy needs by harnessing just a fraction of the wind and solar energy available in the U.S. By steadily shifting to clean renewable energy, we'll reduce pollution, improve our health and avoid tremendous environmental destruction associated with the extraction and use of fossil fuels. Yet, despite the public support and recent progress, we still get most of our electricity from dirty sources like coal, gas and nuclear.

 

The digital campaigner will help us reach the following clean energy campaign goals:

 

·       Go 100% Renewable – Lay groundwork with to make mainstream the idea that the US can reach 100% renewable electricity by 2030. 

·       Go Solar – Work toward a national goal of getting 10% of our power from the sun by 2030, replacing half of our nation's coal plants and more than half of the energy we use to fuel today's cars.

·       Campaign for Atlantic Offshore Wind Secure federal and state commitments to offshore wind.

·       Wind Power for America - Win extension of federal tax incentives and push forward other pro-wind policies.

 

You:

o   Are passionate about political issues and want to see America go 100% renewable;

o   Can write persuasively and boil complex issues down to a single sentence;

o   Have an opinion about what works online and can point to examples to back it up;

o   Are excited to learn new tools and aren't afraid of HTML; 

o   Have an opinion about political issues, want to make a difference, and are excited about calling out special interests standing in the way;

o   Have built something from scratch;

o   Sweat the details.


Your Job:

o   Collaborate with other digital organizers on our team, who are working on other issues;

o   Write emails and campaign actions that you'll send to hundreds of thousands of supporters; 

o   Design and curate content for social media, and engage with our national community;

o   Coordinate with our field team of five to nine campaign organizers, and back them up with emails, web pages and digital strategy; 

o   Develop partnerships and creative online tactics to build our audience and raise money;

o   Analyze the results of your work, and report on successes and failures;

o   Keep your projects on track, hold people accountable to their deliverables, and communicate regularly with your team. 

 

Location: Denver, CO.

 

Salary: Salary for this position is commensurate with experience, in the range of $25,000 to $30,000. A competitive benefits package for eligible staff includes health care coverage; educational loan assistance; retirement plan; parental leave; as well as paid holidays, vacation, and sick days.
