Competitive Aldermanic race on the Northwest side is seeking a Field Organizer. We are looking for full-time applicants for this position which will run through February 26th with the potential of a runoff which would extend the position to April 2nd. This position is hiring ASAP so interested applicants should submit their resume and 2-3 references as soon as possible to: progressivestrategiesil@gmail.
We request that applicants be either from the Chicagoland area or have prior experience in the Chicagoland area.
Responsibilities
The Field Organizer will help the campaign meet its voter contact goals that include, but are not
limited to:
- Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly direct voter contact, volunteer recruitment is met
- Direct voter contact via door-to-door canvassing, phone calls, and postcards
- Recruiting, training, managing volunteers for activities such as canvassing, phone banking, etc...
- Represent campaign and staff candidate at events as necessary
- Take part in daily team phone calls and meetings as well as complete required reports
- Enter all data into pertinent databases in a timely manner
- Staff campaign office as needed
Qualifications
- Political campaign experience whether as a volunteer or staff
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meeting frequent deadlines
- Strong communication and organizational skills, showing attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Goal-orientation and willingness to hold self-accountable
- Excellent personal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to progressive values
- Familiarity with Votebuilder, MiniVan, Relay/Hustle, G Suite is a plus
- A valid driver's license, reliable access to a vehicle, cell phone and laptop
- Ability to work long and irregular hours
- Bilingual skills a plus
