End Citizens United's Mission: To combat Big Money in politics and dismantle our rigged political system by electing campaign finance reform champions and passing state ballot measures. These champions will work toward overturning Citizens United, ending unlimited money in politics, and ending Dark Money. We'll work towards the mission by electing pro-reform candidates, raising the issue of money in politics as a national priority, and using grassroots membership to demonstrate political power on the issue of money in politics.

 

Reports to:  National Finance Director

Position Type: Full-Time Exempt

 

Job Summary

End Citizens United is seeking a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Team. The Finance Assistant will work closely with the Finance Team, the National Finance Director, and the President to support the fundraising activities of End Citizens United, Fight for Reform, and endorsed candidates.

 

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

 

·      Assisting the National Finance Director in the day-to-day fundraising operations for the Finance Department

·      Staffing call time with the President and conducting all necessary follow up

·      Donor research and prospecting

·      Donor solicitation and stewardship

·      Assisting with the solicitation of contributions for endorsed candidates

·      Assisting with the writing and design of direct mail and email appeals

·      Preparing briefings for fundraising events, fundraising meetings, and fundraising trips

·      Preparing regular communications and updates for donors and other stakeholders

·      Assisting with ECU hosted events

·      Assisting with administrative support for the Finance Department

·      Tracking and updating contributions in conjunction with the Compliance Department

·      Managing Finance Department interns

·      Other duties as needed

 

Qualifications 

To be successful in this role, the Finance Assistant should possess:

·       Strong writing skills

·       Knowledge of NGP, ActBlue, Google platforms, Microsoft Excel, and email monitoring software

·       Working knowledge of FEC campaign finance law

·       A detail-oriented approach and strong time management and organizational skills

·       Good interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor

·       A commitment to getting Big Money out of politics

·       Experience conducting call time

·       Experience in digital fundraising is preferred

·       Prior campaign or political fundraising experience is preferred

·       Bachelor's degree
