PAY RATE: $3,200 - $3,500/mo (based on exp.)

Position Summary
We are looking for a dynamic person who shares our commitment to racial, economic, and social justice to fill a Field Organizer position in the Denver Metro Area. Our team of Field Organizers works with the leadership team to develop and implement strategies and plans that activate the WFP membership and recruit a multiracial cadre of volunteers to win electoral victories that advance the interests of working families in Colorado. The largest portion of the organizer's time will be spent on the phone talking with and recruiting volunteers.
Job Duties
Field Work
● Support the overall election work of the Colorado WFP, with a focus on grassroots volunteer mobilization.
● Identify, recruit, and train a diverse group of volunteers from Working Families-aligned organizations & communities as well as the broader public, with specific weekly goals to:
- Identify potential volunteers through various tactics including phone banking, clipboarding*, social media, etc.
- Conduct relational one-on-one meetings (via video or phone call*) with potential volunteers.
- Mobilize volunteers to conduct voter outreach activities.
- Conduct regular volunteer orientations and trainings (likely by video conference*)
● Provide comprehensive volunteer management and support to ensure a productive and positive experience that results in repeat volunteers.
● Manage and execute a voter outreach program, including phone bank, text bank, doorknock and relational voter outreach operations*.
● Organize digital & in person meetings and events*.

● Recruit volunteers and community leaders to write letters to the editor/op-eds, as needed.
● Identify and make connections with local/community media outlets.
● Support the overall WFP social media strategy.

Skills & Qualifications
● Strong interpersonal communication skills & abilities.
● Comfort with talking to people on the phone for hours a day.
● Strong grasp of contemporary political issues and current events.
● Deep and demonstrated commitment to racial and economic justice.
● Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds, one-on-one and in a group.
● Self-starter with the ability to thrive in a team environment.
● Capacity to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
● Willingness to work long and irregular hours, including nights/ weekends, depending on campaign needs.
● Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
● Car and valid driver's license (mileage reimbursed).
● Experience recruiting and working with volunteers highly preferred.
● Political campaign and/or community organizing experience preferred.
● Experience working with VAN preferred.
● Bilingual Spanish/ English strongly preferred.

These positions are short term, start as soon as possible, and run through the Colorado primary election on June 30th, with a possibility of extension through the November 3rd general election. This is a campaign position, so work hours typically include weekday evenings and weekend days.
