Mayoral race seeks energetic field assistant to be responsible for
overseeing community outreach and field organizing. Strong
organizational skills as well as the ability to multitask are
important. Being able to engage with the public and communicate a solid
message is a must! The position is unpaid but housing will be provided
and you will be allowed to get in on the ground floor of exciting
campaign in a wonderful city and have a major impact while gaining
valuable experience.
You
will manage relationships to recruit and train activists to lead phone
banks, canvasses and voter registration drives. Applicants should be
energetic, outgoing, enthusiastic, and willing to work long hours.
Responsibilities:
-Implement all aspects of the field program
-Carry out recruitment activities and monitor the progress towards recruitment goals as the program builds capacity
-Provide volunteers with the necessary guidance and resources required to master advocacy and mobilization best practices
-Promote
the continued development of campaign teams in their day-to-day duties
and responsibilities over the course of the program
-Respond
with timeliness to all issues and incidents on the ground as well as
communicate all relevant issues and incidents to the Campaign Manager
-Ensure that campaign teams maintain accurate and reliable data
-Provide
the Campaign Manager with data and qualitative reports as part of an
ongoing evaluation of the program throughout its duration
-Maintain a positive attitude and promote a culture of teamwork and cooperation
Qualifications:
-A can-do attitude and a strong commitment towards achieving goals
-Field experience is a plus but not required
-Strong organizational and communication skills
-Able to perform under tight deadlines while maintaining good judgment
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Docs
-Willingness to relocate as necessary
-Willing to working extended hours and weekends
