Lake Research Partners is a national public opinion and political strategy research firm.  Our principals are among the Democratic Party's leading strategists, serving as tacticians and senior advisors to dozens of incumbents and challengers at all levels of the electoral process, as well as to a wide range of advocacy organizations, non-profit organizations and foundations.  We have nationally recognized expertise on the politics of the women's vote, the youth vote, children as a political issue, and the environmental movement today. 
Field Director – Public Opinion Research
Lake Research Partners seeks a highly organized, self-starter to manage all aspects of data collection in a political environment. The Field Director will lead our field department, assist teams with production, analyze calling data and procedures, and work with teams to improve research methods. This position will manage all details of qualitative research, including focus group and other methods. 
Position requires the ability to coordinate logistics in a fast paced environment and to multitask effectively. Preference for a candidate with data training through graduate study or equivalent experience.  Must have proven organizational skills and be very detail oriented. Strong interpersonal skills in dealing with vendors and subcontractors are required.

Job Duties:
 Manage, track and plan for the logistics of all research projects independently
  • Manage vendors to ensure smooth execution of surveys for field and focus groups for recruiting
  • Assist the Teams in ordering sample
  • Analyze nightly calling to ensure vendors are executing our methodological practices accurately
  • Keep records of and analyze ongoing dispositions/response rates to detect trends in calling and offer solutions to keep LRP on track
  • Seek new vendor relationships and troubleshoot existing ones
  • Conduct preliminary research for sampling frames
  • Supervision of subcontractors and studies
  • Communication of progress with senior staff.
  • Assist in the training and learning of junior staff firm wide
The successful candidate will have the following professional and personal characteristics:
 At least 3 years of professional experience
  • Understanding of survey process and methodologies
  • Fluent in Excel, familiarity with SPSS
  • Ability to act independently with little supervision
  • Extremely detail-oriented and solution oriented
  • Able to juggle multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills
  • Working political knowledge
  • Research skills
  • Short learning curve
  • Political campaign experience a plus
  • Some familiarity with census data, voter file data and/or election returns analysis
