Job Title: Data Coordinator (Two Open Positions)
Position Location: Brooklyn, NY
The Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) builds organizing power to transform the local, state, and national policy landscape through deep, long-term partnerships with leading community organizing groups and progressive labor unions nationwide.
The Data Coordinators will be an essential component of a team that will help deploy the data and technology components of a multi-state campaign to implement President Obama's Executive Action on immigration. There will be two Data Coordinators who will be working with the Executive Action national headquarters team. One will be responsible for coordinating the data and technology components of a field outreach campaign. This will include configuring and deploying field canvassing technology, helping to manage the field canvass, targeting analysis, and canvass analytics. The other Data Coordinator will be responsible for the data and technology components of partner organization DACA/DAPA application assistance centers. This will include assisting in the operations setup of the application assistance centers, deploying the technology to be used for screening and registering members, and managing the incoming data. Strong candidates must be familiar with manipulating and analyzing large data sets, managing projects involving multiple parties, and be able to quickly understand and pick up new technology. Preference will be given to individuals with electoral or similar field experience.
Primary Responsibilities
The responsibility of each Data Coordinator is as follows:
Field Outreach Data Coordinator:
· Manage field canvass technology setup and deployment to partner organizations;
· Provide technical support to field canvass team on use of canvassing tools where needed;
· Provide targeting analysis; and
· Manage incoming data – dedupe, match, and enhance data with other incoming data streams;
Application Center Data Coordinator:
· Manage the deployment and setup of DACA/DAPA eligibility screening tool and database at partner organization application assistance centers;
· Assist in configuring and coordinating application center intake operations;
· Provide technical support to application assistants where needed; and
· Manage data and reporting on the progress of application center processing.
Job Requirements
· A demonstrated commitment to social and racial justice issues and understanding of challenges facing immigrant communities, communities of color, and low-and moderate income families;
· At least 2-3 years of experience in electoral, civic engagement, union or community organizing, or political campaigns;
· Experience managing large projects involving multiple parties;
· Experience manipulating, managing, and analyzing large datasets;
· Experience working in database platforms;
· Familiarity with the latest digital organizing tools and best data and technology practices in the field;
· Tech-savvy – ability to quickly learn and understand new technology;
· Proficient in Excel; knowledge of Salesforce a plus;
· Exposure to or familiarity with programming a plus;
· Ability to work within a coalition of diverse organizations and partners;
· Highly analytical and detail-oriented; and
· Results-focused and organized.
Position preferably will be based in Brooklyn, NY.
