Leadership for Educational Equity seeks Candidate Ready Development managers who will exert the leadership necessary to cultivate a conviction for elected leadership and develop effective candidates for electoral office across the United States. Candidate Ready Development managers simultaneously build awareness and confidence across their regions, working to grow the leadership mindsets and skills of their members. Candidate Ready Development managers will also leverage the experience of elected members to support prospective candidates and inspire a new generation of diverse leaders to answer the call of elected service.
As part of a team that values leadership development, elected leadership development managers receive extensive training, ongoing coaching, and professional development that enable them to achieve success and innovate while positioning them for greater responsibility in the future.
This position reports to the Director, Candidate Ready Development

Responsibilities
● Candidate Ready Development managers INSPIRE a new generation of diverse leaders to answer the call of elected service by:
Skills and Experience
● Bachelor's degree required
● Experience working with communities of color required
● At least 4 years of professional work experience
● Working in under-resourced communities preferred
● Relevant experience in electoral candidate campaigns or supporting candidates (candidate staff, volunteering on campaigns)
● Experience in training and developing campaign staff a plus
● Advising or consulting on political campaigns a plus
● Exemplifies Leadership for Educational Equity's core values
● Thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced, diverse, results-oriented, continuously learning environment
● Can develop and cultivate relationships and networks in order to achieve results
● Effectively works across lines of difference with colleagues and constituents
● Communicates with various audiences verbally and in writing in an engaging, inspiring way
● Inspires committed and positive action toward individual and organizational goals
● Uses data to make decisions and guide daily actions
● Makes informed and timely decisions and uses sound judgement to prioritize actions
● Tracks tasks and follows through on execution plans
● Willingness to travel and work weekends and evenings frequently

○ cultivating member interest in elected leadership opportunities in a portfolio of regions
○ maintaining member interest in elected leadership throughout the candidate pipeline and development process
○ identifying, cultivating, and influencing members to act on their interest in elected leadership now
● Candidate Ready Development managers COACH potential candidates to master campaign competencies by:○ maintaining member interest in elected leadership throughout the candidate pipeline and development process
○ identifying, cultivating, and influencing members to act on their interest in elected leadership now
○ following up with members from elected leadership development programs (Inspire)
○ coaching members as they practice elected leadership (Inspire)
● Candidate Ready Development managers TRAIN potential candidates to learn essential campaign competencies by:○ coaching members as they practice elected leadership (Inspire)
○ training members through LEE's elected leadership development program opportunities to grow the leadership mindsets, knowledge, and skills of elected leaders
○ training Regional Directors (LEE staff) to be more effective at cultivating and developing member interest, mindset, and skillset to successfully pursue elected leadership opportunities
● Candidate Ready Development managers DEVELOP new resources to scale this effort by:○ training Regional Directors (LEE staff) to be more effective at cultivating and developing member interest, mindset, and skillset to successfully pursue elected leadership opportunities
○ capturing the stories of elected leaders (impact, a day in the life, overcoming barriers)
○ documenting best practices in member cultivation and race recruitment
○ assisting in developing elected leadership training content/curriculum
