The Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee's mission is to build and maintain winning, state-of-the-art campaign committees through a continuing partnership with legislative leaders, professional staff, and supporters. Since its inception, the DLCC has been an integral part of the success that Democrats have had winning at the legislative level.
In addition to targeting critical resources to states, the DLCC also seeks to provide important services and instill best practices and economies of scale at the state legislative level. By changing the market and the quality of services available for legislative candidates, the DLCC has continued to change the paradigm of how state legislative elections are won.
POSITION: State Fundraising Manager
This position is based in Washington, DC and is available immediately.
QUALIFICATIONS:
College degree or equivalent experience is required. Applicants should have excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. The ideal candidate will have at least two (2) cycles of campaign experience. A strong background in fundraising and knowledge of state level politics is preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Creating and implementing a multi-state fundraising plan to systematically increase state-based giving
· Cultivating and maintaining relationships with donors in states across the country
· Managing legislative leaders' participation with the state fundraising program
· Prospecting new donors through research and analysis of past contributions
· Meeting with donors to solicit major gifts for the organization
· Conducting appropriate donor follow up, responding to all requests and inquiries
· Producing all necessary documents and presentations for state fundraising program
· Helping to staff DLCC fundraising events throughout the year
· Working with the National Finance Director to meet quarterly fundraising goals
This position reports directly to the DLCC National Finance Director. The successful candidate must be a team player who is organized, detail-oriented, and has the ability to multi-task and produce what's needed in a timely manner. This position will require frequent travel and the ability to self-start is essential.
