[jobsthatareLEFT] Don't Frack Maryland Fellowship (Chesapeake Climate Action Network) - Takoma Park, MD

Do you want to fight fracking while gaining valuable grassroots organizing skills and experience?

If so, then Chesapeake Climate Action Network has the perfect fellowship for you! We are currently hiring a Don't Frack Maryland Fellow to work with us to keep Maryland frack-free.

Apply today! Please indicate that you are applying for the Don't Frack Maryland Fellowship. Applications are due March 31st and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applications are highly encouraged.

Whether you're new to organizing or looking to hone your skills, CCAN's fellowships offer a chance to hone your skills and make an immediate impact in the fight against the most urgent threat to Maryland.

For over a decade, CCAN has been working in Virginia, Maryland and DC to fight climate change by building a powerful grassroots climate movement that  that can stand up to polluters and push for clean energy solutions. If we're going to protect Marylanders from the devastating effects of fracking - including polluted air and water, serious health problems, earthquakes and economic losses for local communities - we need to build a climate movement here that matches the scale of the problem we're facing.

In Maryland, the clock is ticking: While no fracking yet occurs in our state, the gas industry is looking to move in. Across Maryland, five different gas basins stretch underneath our communities and could potentially be fracked by the gas industry. And Maryland's new governor, Larry Hogan, has said he wants to move forward with drilling — despite the growing evidence of harm. So far, we've been able to keep the gas industry at bay, but we have a lot more work to do to make sure fracking NEVER comes to Maryland.

Our Don't Frack Maryland Fellow will be part of keeping Maryland frack-free.
