New Virginia Majority is seeking a canvassers to build a movement for a new Virginia. NVM leads the fight in Virginia for immigrant rights and voting rights, Medicare expansion and educating voters about the effects of climate change.
We're seeking and experienced door to door fundraiser to help us start this program and build power by organizing people, money and ideas right here in Northern Virginia. This will be a part time position to start at 32Hrs a week and if proves workable - can become full time. This position is to help build a program from the ground up and with that comes potential advancement.
Responsibilities:
~ Implementing the field plan by canvassing door to door and having conversations with voters
~ Getting voters involved as monthly sustainers and building memberships
~ Meeting or exceeding daily Quota and contact goals
~ Recording results while placing a high expectation on accuracy of data
Qualifications:
~ At least One Cycle of Fundraising experience strongly preferred
~ Persons with Fundraising AND Canvassing experience will be given top priority
~ Having access to a vehicle is also preferred
~ Be comfortable with speaking with voters door to door
~ Interest in political campaigns and grassroots organizing a strong plus
~ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well with a team
~ Sense of humor with a good attitude with an outgoing personality
~ Willingness to work hard every day.
~ Have a professional yet casual appearance
~ Strong attention to details
PAID Training
Salary: $11.00 per hour With Bonus at 30% over Quota and Travel Assistance. (gas card)
Quota = 80.00 Nightly with Sustainers average of 5 months. Meaning if you bring in a 10.00 monthly sustainer (member),
You will be credited for 50.00 towards nightly quota.
Schedule
Hours will be flexible but also based on results - up to 32Hrs a week. Saturday and Sunday will be most hours from 12-7 (1-6 Canvassing) = 14hrs
Weekdays Mon - Fri will be flexible. 15 Hrs weekdays (3hrs per day/night)
* Could be site based or door knocking. Whichever you're best at.
