TEACH.org is looking to hire a talented and upcoming leader to serve as the Washington DC Area Regional Director. TEACH.org brings together a coalition including Microsoft, the US Department of Education, The Ad Council, Teach for America, the National Education Association, the American Federation of Teachers, the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards and more. This effort aims to recruit a new generation of teachers as millions of educators around the country approach retirement age.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Work closely with Deputy National Recruitment Director to develop the DC Area outreach plan and manage the day to day activities for six local campuses
- Hire, train, and manage part-time student staff on campuses
- Build and maintain relationships with college professors, administrators, and staff
- Engage in conversations with college students about considering a career in education
- Help plan and execute campus events and activities
- Assist Deputy Director with certain administrative tasks
The right candidate will be outgoing, creative, willing to take initiative, and prepared to fill in where needed. This position requires an ability to multi-task, to work independently at times, and a strong desire to help improve our education system.
