Internships with NextGen Climate
SUMMARY: NextGen Climate is currently seeking highly motivated interns to join our team in Florida for our Paid Fall Internship Program. Interns will work with Field Organizers to gain valuable, first-hand experience with climate organizing. Ideal candidates will have a strong desire to learn about issue and community organizing, detail-orientation and an ability to adapt quickly in a fast paced environment. The statewide program will run from September 1st through December 1st and full time and part time opportunities will be available.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develop a volunteer base in a given geographic area
* Develop a strong campus program to engage students in issue organizing campaign
* Find and maintain relationships with organizational contacts
* Responsible for voter contact, voter registration, volunteer recruitment, and event management
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent organizational skills
* The ability to adapt rapidly to evolving priorities and deadlines
* Drive and strong work ethic
* Ability to work flexible hours
* Previous climate, energy or environmental issue organizing
* Previous work experience in youth and student organizing
