And pasted below. Please apply!

Action Network is a nonprofit dedicated to providing progressives with the best digital organizing tools available. Since launching in 2013, we now provide tools to some of the biggest and most effective organizations and campaigns in the country, including the AFL-CIO and its affiliates, the NEA, United We Dream, the Other 98%, the Malala Fund, and many more. As we grow, we're looking for a Digital Organizer/Partnerships Manager to help our partners take advantage of the possibilities Action Network and other technologies provide. If you want to be a part of building powerful, flexible 21st century progressive campaigns and you have the skills to do it, we'd love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

The Digital Organizer/Partnerships Manager will:
  • Conduct demos of Action Network technology for potential partners, train staff and partners on the use of the toolset, and support their on-going use of the tools
  • Build partnerships with progressive organizations to migrate them to the Action Network toolset, including building awareness of the toolset among progressive organizations and reaching out to specific organizations to make them aware of the toolset and how it can help organizations meet their goals
  • Advise partners on best practices in utilizing Action Network to create collaborative campaigns and build long-term power
  • Create and help others create compelling digital organizing and social media content, websites, and landing pages
  • Advise partners on digital campaign strategy, from goals and planning to ladder of engagement design to email list growth and maintenance
  • Answer questions and provide technical support to partners using the toolset
  • Track and maintain partner relationships

Skills and relevant experience

This is a position for a creative, outgoing person who understands how to use technology to organize and run campaigns and how to recruit people to a cause. We want someone who can skillfully and clearly explain technology to partners with a wide variety of skill levels, and who can remain cool under pressure while answering support questions and investigating problems. We want someone who can see the potential in campaigns and think differently about how to reach that potential. We want someone who's good with strategy and can turn potentially ephemeral online action into on-the-ground impact, and can move people to action.

The right person for this position also possesses excellent writing skills, some web design skills, and can communicate ideas to others verbally in a way that excites them.

We're looking for someone who has:
  • 2-3 years experience working with digital organizing tools in a campaign setting
  • Demonstrated ability to write successful digital organizing plans, including significant list growth and engagement
  • Demonstrated history organizing people outside of a social media context into taking action for a cause or organization
  • Demonstrated proficiency with social media
  • Experience writing blast emails that spur people to take action
  • Experience using digital organizing technology and preferably training or demonstrating it to others
  • Experience working with disparate partners, clients, or stakeholders and maintaining those relationships
  • Basic HTML experience also strongly preferred

In addition, we need someone who can:
  • Create organized tracking documents (spreadsheets, etc.)
  • Work independently but collaboratively in a fast-paced, startup-like, constantly-changing environment
  • Work well with disparate staff and coalitions with a broad array of partners, in-person and remotely, on the phone and in person -- we need a people person for this position!
  • Run trainings and conferences using web-based presentation tools (Join.me, GoToMeeting, etc)

Compensation

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Location

This position is based in Washington, DC, with possible travel for meetings, trainings, and other responsibilities.
