Fahr LLC is looking for a Technology Coordinator to help support and manage our IT operations. This role will report to the Director of Technology and will be responsible for primary support and management of an environment where 80% of the fleet are Macs working with a myriad of business applications.
You will participate in establishing client platform standards and performance, software packaging and distribution, patching and configuration, scripting, remote management and threat remediation via MDM and other endpoint management solutions. You'll strive to keep our users operating in a safe, yet efficient environment, staying up to date with the latest security threats, OS bugs and general best practices.
In this roll it's critical to be passionate about providing the best customer experience possible. In addition to the hands-on technical aspects of this role, you will also participate in project initiatives in areas of business technology.
The ideal candidate will have a experience with known spectrum of cloud based technologies (e.g. Asana, Zendesk, Google Apps, Office 365, Dropbox, Box, etc), knowledge of Meraki network platforms, and extensive Mac OS X support experience in the business environments as their primary platform of expertise.
- Technical Remediation. Provide day-to-day support via timely, effective and proactive communication with end users in a best effort manner. Provide workstation setup and orientation for new hires. Facilitate and troubleshoot audio-video equipment for conference rooms and meetings. Provide other back-up for the Director of Technology as needed.
- Infrastructure Management. Develop, manage, and maintain up-to-date configuration documentation. Manage end-user accounts, permissions, access rights, and storage allocation in accordance with IT policies. Manage routine maintenance and upgrades on software and hardware for desktops, laptops and peripherals. Monitors and maintains backup system. Assists in system upgrading process as needed.
- Administrative Responsibilities. Maintain and update IT capital equipment inventory and helpdesk knowledge base library. Request procurement quotes and place equipment orders as directed.
About you:
- 1-3 years experience in IT support capacity within a business environment of users predominantly using Mac computers (at least 50%).
- High level of competence in troubleshooting current versions of both Mac and Windows workstation operating system, Office suite applications, cloud-based collaborative technologies, iOS and Android mobile devices, and basic IT security best practices.
- Rudimentary networking fundamental knowledge and support experience (DNS, DHCP, routing, VPN).
- Printer system fundamental knowledge and support experience in a network environment.
- Mobile device and VoIP telephony fundamental knowledge and support experience.
- Ability to identify and analyze complex issues and problems, and also make best efforts in recommendations and solution implementations.
- Possesses independent judgment necessary to prioritize and manage multiple simultaneous requests.
- Strong interpersonal skills necessary in order to maintain effective relationships with partners and staff in person and remote.
- Work occasionally requires a high level of mental effort and strain when performing essential duties. Must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with time constraints, interruptions, and stressed staff.
- Frequent to constant use of hands/fingers/arms: position requires 7-8 hours per day of constant operation of computer, phone and other office machinery.
Bonus points for:
- Working knowledge of workstation management and MDM tools (e.g. Meraki SM, JAMF Casper Suite/Bushel, Airwatch, Bigfix, Munki, Chef, Puppet, DeployStudio).
- 1-2 years experience of authentication technologies and fundamentals (e.g. Octa, One Login, LDAP and Active Directory).
- General familiarity of desktop security (anti-virus/anti-spam/firewall/patching/two-factor authentication).
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
