Progressive Organizing Solutions is Hiring Field Organizers in Iowa!
Progressive Organizing Solutions, on behalf of the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), is hiring Field Organizers for a member mobilization and issue advocacy campaign. Field organizers are based primarily in Des Moines and Iowa City, and responsible for recruiting and training environmental activists.
Strong candidates should be excited to engage LCV members in Iowa to execute a volunteer-driven environmental issue advocacy campaign, building earned media and grassroots lobbying events. We work on issues of clean water (both for drinking and recreation!), supporting and defending the EPAs Clean Power Plan, reducing carbon emissions and raising awareness about the need to address global warming.
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate the following:
· At least one year (paid or volunteer) of prior community, issue, labor or political organizing experience;
· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written;
· An aptitude for creative and engaging organizing;
· A willingness to tackle difficult problems with a positive attitude.
Field organizer positions are full-time, temporary through December 31, 2015. Salary is $3,000 per month with stipends for cell phone, transportation and healthcare. The position requires extensive volunteer recruitment, training and management, reliable transportation and a willingness to work evening and Saturday hours.
