Research Director Position

HOUSE MAJORITY PAC:

 

House Majority PAC is an independent expenditure only committee (often called a "Super PAC") that is designed to help elect Democrats running for the House of Representatives and hold Republicans accountable. House Majority PAC is committed to building a long-term organization that can take on the Republican outside groups in the battle for the House Majority.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

 

The Research Director will work closely with House Majority PAC's leadership team to assess the committee's research needs and execute a plan to fulfill them.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

·      Assessment of House Majority PAC's research needs

 

·      Work with allied organizations to ensure research needs are met

 

·      Track assigned races on a daily basis

 

·      Condense research books into concise memos

 

·      Vet and create research memos on candidates and prospective candidates

 

·      Review House Majority PAC communications in districts, including television, internet, and mail advertising

 

·      Create side-by-side and backup documentation for House Majority PAC communications

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES DESIRED:

·      Demonstrated commitment to promoting Democratic values and causes

  • BA/BS degree
  • Minimum 4 years experience in the research field
  • Experience with independent expenditure ad backup
  • Experience working in the U.S. House of Representatives or on House campaigns
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to take ownership of wide-ranging responsibilities; ability to work independently and proactively
  • Ability to work under pressure and remain flexible and adaptable as needs and priorities change; experience managing to multiple deadlines  
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail
  • Solid verbal, written, research, and interpersonal skills
  • Sense of humor, ability to have fun, and an interest in working within a high-performing team environment

 

 

LOCATION:                           Washington, DC

START DATE:                       TBD

TRAVEL:                               Little to no travel will be required

SALARY:                               Commensurate with experience
