Field Director
Nevada Assembly Democratic Caucus – Las Vegas, Nevada
The Nevada Assembly represents one of the best opportunities for Democrats to regain the majority in a legislative chamber this year. To help organize winning legislative campaigns, the Nevada Assembly Democratic Caucus is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to serve as Field Director. The Candidate Services Director will report to the Caucus Executive Director and will work collaboratively to execute a winning field program.
The Field Director will work with the Caucus Director, incumbent caucus members and targeted endorsed campaigns to:
- Assist in hiring and overseeing campaign managers
- Develop field plans and track campaign outreach goals
- Maintain a dynamic voter file, including creating voter universes and cutting turf
- Help organize and stage aggressive door-to-door canvasses and phone banks
- Help develop scripts, talking points, literature and other messaging materials
- Develop and lead trainings for staff and candidates on organizing, voter outreach and GOTV
- A strong personal commitment to helping Democratic candidates win
- Previous experience in field organizing with a political or non-profit entity
- Experience writing field plans and tracking outreach goals
- Experience hiring and supervising staff
- Experience recruiting, training and empowering volunteers
- High proficiency with VAN, Excel, and/or other databases
- Strong ability to multi-task, stay organized, manage time, and quickly shift focus between assignments
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the flexibility to effectively communicate and build relationships with stakeholders
- An ability to succeed in fast-moving and pressured environments
- A desire to be a professional ambassador for the organization
· An ability to be an excellent leader and collaborative team member
Additionally, an exceptional applicant might also have one or more of the following skills:
- Experience with state legislative candidates and caucuses
- Worked with candidates or managed staff remotely
- Experience working with diverse candidates
- Experience working with consultants
- Fluency in Spanish
- Curious, creative, and analytical problem-solver
- Nevada ties or previous professional experience in Nevada
This is a full-time position based in Las Vegas, Nevada. Interested candidates not currently in Nevada must be available to relocate. Applicants must have a valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle.
