The Communications Workers of America is a progressive and diverse union on the leading edge of campaigns to get big money out of politics, restore and expand voting rights, take on Wall Street and the Big Banks and end runaway inequality in our country.
We are seeking a writer/communicator to be a part of a small but dynamic DC-based communications team. The position requires strong written communication skills, good inter-personal skills and the ability to work under and meet tight deadlines.
CWA's communications department has a broad range of responsibilities, including a weekly online newsletter and quarterly membership publication, media outreach on policy and legislative priorities as well as bargaining and industry issues, planning and support for strategic campaigns and more.
Requirements: At minimum, a Bachelor's degree and work experience that demonstrates superior writing and communications skills, the ability to work well in a deadline-oriented position, and ability to support the goals of CWA's Communications program.
Samples of recent work and references are required. Successful candidate must be able to work extended hours and weekends on short notice. Some travel.
