Job Description:


Environics Communications is currently seeking a strong communications professional for an Account Coordinator (AC) position in our growing Washington, DC office.  The AC will develop, implement and support strategic communications and digital initiatives on behalf of agency clients in multiple sectors.  The AC will also be a smart, strategic, thoughtful, and highly motivated individual who can work well independently and as part of a team. This position is responsible for leading day-to-day account activities, managing projects, and implementing a wide range of public relations and digital marketing communications tactics on fast-paced client projects.


Key Responsibilities:

  • ·         Provide and manage client service: day-to-day account management, meeting deadlines, updating client reports and serving as a primary agency contact for multiple clients;
  • ·         Assist in implementing communications plans that integrate traditional and digital media strategies, including paid digital ad campaigns, email marketing, social media and thought leadership campaigns;
  • ·         Conduct proactive and reactive media relations and write/edit news releases and materials, story ideas, and pitches for national and trade outlets;
  • ·         Write client marketing materials ensuring consistency in voice and writing style;
  • ·         Participate in new business process including research, proposal and pitch preparation; and
  • ·         Demonstrate personal leadership and take ownership and responsibility for roles on projects, as well as supervise interns on accounts.


Qualifications:

  • ·         Bachelor's degree;
  • ·         1-2 years of full-time public relations and/or marketing communications experience, agency experience not mandatory but strongly preferred (internships count!);
  • ·         Strong understanding of digital and social media strategies, tactics, and management, monitoring and measurement tools;
  • ·         Experience supporting communications programs including pitching consumer, business, and trade media (print/broadcast/online);
  • ·         A positive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • ·         Attention to detail, highly organized and successful in a fast-paced environment; and
  • ·         Excellent written and verbal communications skills including writing and editing
