Chief Scheduler. Responsible for maintaining the schedule for District 8 Staff and Vice Mayor Gallego, including making appropriate logistical arrangements. The successful candidate will be prepared for a fast-paced, high-pressure work environment, and feels comfortable operating nimbly under these conditions. Success will be measured based upon the maintenance of the office calendar and related events with minimum disruption.
Office Manager. As office manager, serving as the primary point of contact on questions of operations and logistics with city staff, in charge of managing and ordering supplies, serving as the primary monitor of constituent correspondence, and serving as general receptionist for the office. Also in charge of maintaining office records, responding to constituent correspondence, coordinating the delivery of awards and certificates for constituents, and managing all other written correspondence for the office. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to thrive wearing multiple hats at once, serving as the lead on operational matters for the district office.
Community Liaison. Responsible for attending community meetings as directed by the Chief of Staff, assisting with the creation and dissemination of the newsletter, maintaining the email list serve, and scheduling outreach activities. The successful applicant will be in constant communication with diverse constituencies and often in situations where highly sensitive topics are being discussed—demonstrated success in similar environments is a plus. Success will be defined by the timely completion of these tasks, and maintaining real-time channels of communication with the Vice Mayor, Council Office staff, and community stakeholders.
Policy Liaison. Responsible for monitoring and reporting to Vice Mayor Gallego and Chief of Staff on a portfolio of specific policy areas as designated by the Chief of Staff. Success will be defined on maximizing communication with the Vice Mayor and Chief of Staff as issues arise.
This is a salaried position, thus employees may be required to work more than forty hours in a workweek without additional compensation to perform assigned job duties, including weekends, evenings, early morning hours, and holidays as required. The position is also considered non-classified, meaning it is not part of the classified City service nor covered by the Civil Service Merit system. Employment is considered 'at-will' and employees may be separated from the City of Phoenix at any time without a reason.

SALARY
$35,610 per year.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
· Experience working with elected officials preferred.
· College course work in public administration, political science or a related field. Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred.
