The Ro Khanna campaign for Congress is currently seeking motivated interns for our Graphic Design Department. If you are looking for an opportunity to elect an innovative candidate and learn how digital is impacting the fundraising and communications arena in electoral politics; or if you want to gain a firsthand experience about the inner workings of a political campaign then you should apply.

Graphic designing shapes the political landscape and brings campaigns closer to voters. As a graphic design intern, you will play a pivotal role in our close-knit team of digital strategists. You will have the opportunity to create rich, engaging visual content for a variety of projects. You will get hands-on experience working with our consultants on big projects, your work will be displayed on campaign materials, and you will work directly with the campaign manager. Anyone interested in pursuing a career in political graphic design is encouraged to apply.

On this race, you will have the opportunity to refine your design skills, as well as learn how to succeed in a digital political marketing and will receive practical, hands-on training in creative, digital projects.

Responsibilities:

· Use Adobe Creative tools to design a variety of digital assets (social media graphics, short animations, website graphics, landing pages, infographics, email marketing graphics, media rich banners, online ads, and more).

· Translate creative briefs into visually appealing, engaging, easy-to understand graphics.

· Collaborate with digital strategist, campaign manager and consultants to brainstorm and pitch graphic design ideas.

· Maintain archives of all creative files

· Proofreading and editing

· Utilize graphic design templates

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

· Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite

· Detail oriented with good organizational skills

· Strong understanding of design principals, color theory, typography and communicating visually.

· Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently

· Must have a willingness to learn

· Be a problem solver

· Able to thrive in a fast paced environment

· Exceptional written and oral communications skills

· Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively

· Some experience with design for both Web and Print

· Web design and coding a plus but not required.

· Self-starter with a willingness and ability to learn quickly

· Interest in and or knowledge of politics is preferred
