The Missouri Democratic Party seeks a Director of Data and Analytics
The Missouri Democratic Party has an opening for a Director of Data and Analytics. The position is based in Jefferson City, MO. The Director will serve a key role in coordinating with Democratic candidates and allies. This position, as are all of our senior positions, is highly collaborative and crucial to the MoDP achieving its mission of electing Democrats at all levels. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Responsibilities: The Director of Data and Analytics must be a true proactive catalyst in initiating programs and making change and progress happen quickly. Responsibilities include:
- Taking a lead role in the planning and supervision of the execution of MoDP's voter contact program, including data manipulation of voter, membership, volunteer or other lists.
- Developing and refining vote goals for all targeted races and use to inform a coordinated voter campaign program.
- Working with stakeholders to identify geographic and voter-specific targets and identify gaps in collective strategy.
- Analyzing the state of voter file data available to the MoDP and making recommendations as to which additional polling and modeling projects and lists are needed to be developed or acquired.
- Administer, support, and train users and allies on voter file systems (Catalist and VAN) and other online organizing tools.
- Working on an ongoing basis with the Statewide campaigns, National committees, Congressional campaigns, and the Missouri House and Senate caucuses to continually assess and rank their targeted races and advise their campaigns on in-district targeting.
- Developing volunteer mobilization and voter contact reporting tools.
- Working with local candidates in helping to design their targeting and lending strategic advice.
- Working with the Political team to help focus political work in areas that are most critical to winning the election.
- Working with fundraising, digital, communications, and executive staff to design and update reports.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Expertise with statistical models, precinct targeting, and with SQL, Votebuilder, and Excel.
- Experience standardizing data from multiple sources to produce complex reports.
- Demonstrated data analysis and writing skills.
- Ability to plan and manage time sensitive projects with competing needs.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel including formulas, functions, and pivot tables.
- Candidate must be detail-oriented and a self-starter willing to work long irregular hours and to travel as needed. The candidate will have a demonstrated history of persistence and resourcefulness in solving technical and data problems.
- Advanced knowledge of SQL database including creating advanced queries and manipulating large data sets
Preferred:
- Familiarity with GIS software
- At least 2 complete cycles of campaign experience
- Experience training staff on advanced topics related to data
