National Data Manager

America Votes is the coordination hub of the progressive community. Position Description
America Votes seeks an experienced individual for the full-time position of National Data Manager. America Votes utilizes and offers its partner organizations a range of voter file, data and targeting services. We seek an experienced individual with a combination of technical and political skills to provide expertise and support to AV States in the delivery of these services.

Responsibilities
4 Provide data-driven strategic and programmatic guidance to America Votes state staff and state and national partners.
4 Manage voter file access for AV National partners.
4 Manage and coordinate all data needs of AV State Tables and AV National Partners.
4 Develop program and tool training programs for delivery directly to partners and to State Data Managers for delivery to state partners.
4 Work with consultants and other AV staff responsible for the acquisition, enhancement, manipulation and management of voter files.
4 Manage voter file access for AV Partner organizations and their consultants.
4 Work with partner organizations using the voter file and other technologies to support and enhance voter contact programs. This includes analyzing voter files and generating reports, as well as assisting partners in employing best practices for targeting.
4 Manage and enhance volunteer recruitment database, virtual predictive dialer, and other web based programs and information.
4 Work with other AV staff and partner groups to ensure that programs are maximizing shared voter file, targeting, and other data resources.
4 Cover responsibilities of AV State Data Managers when State Data Managers are on leave.
4 Other responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
4 Candidates should have an understanding of common direct voter contact programs and at least one cycle of experience in the use of data in candidate or issue-base campaigns.
4 Strong VAN skills are required; familiarity with other online electoral/advocacy tools and constituent relationship management tools is a plus.
4 Strong Excel skills are required, as is willingness and aptitude to learn new technical skills.
4 Candidates should have a diplomatic, professional approach to problem solving while working independently or on a team, as well as the ability to manage several tasks/projects concurrently and prioritize work effectively.
4 Must be a self-starter willing to work long irregular 'campaign-style' hours and to travel as needed, especially during campaign season. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of persistence and resourcefulness in solving technical and data problems.
4 Ability to communicate effectively, work well under pressure, be detail oriented, and meet deadlines.
4 Must demonstrate discretion and good judgment
4 Field experiences in a volunteer or staff capacity a plus.
4 One cycle of in state experience preferred.
Timing
This position is open to be filled immediately.
Compensation
Salary is commensurate with experience. Benefits include health, dental, vision and 401K.
