The Maine Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign is seeking an experienced Deputy Field Director for the 2016 election. The Coordinated Campaign Deputy Field Director will assist the Field Director in managing the state-wide field operation in Maine. This year we have an exciting opportunity to elect a Democratic president, send Chellie Pingree back to Congress, send top-tier target Emily Cain to Congress, and elect Democratic majorities in both chambers of the Maine legislature. Our field program will be key to success in all of these races.
The Deputy Field Director will be responsible for the training of field staff and volunteers throughout the state and for overseeing the quality control of the field program. A key function of this position will be to ensure quality and effectiveness of voter contact by field staff and volunteers by creating and executing a comprehensive field campaign training program and ensuring compliance with this program through Election Day.
Required Skills, Abilities, and Experience:
· 1-2 cycles of experience at a congressional or statewide level as a field director, deputy field director or regional field director
· Experience creating and executing field training programs
· Experience managing large teams of staff and volunteers
· Strong working knowledge of and experience with the VAN
· Strong communications and organizational skills, ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and work long and irregular hours
· Deadline-driven and results-driven
Duties and Responsibilities:
· Assist the Field Director in executing ID, persuasion, mail ballot chase and GOTV programs
· Manage the training and quality control of field staff and volunteers
· Motivate staff to meet goals
