About The Andrew Goodman Foundation: At The Andrew Goodman Foundation, our mission is to make young voices and votes a powerful force in our democracy. We're rooted in a powerful story from the past: Andrew Goodman was a 20-year old college student who joined Freedom Summer in 1964 to register African-Americans to vote. On his first day in Mississippi, June 21, 1964, the Ku Klux Klan murdered Andy, along with James Chaney and Michael Schwerner. Andy and his contemporaries were young Americans who joined a movement to take action against injustice. Andy's actions continue to inspire change around the world.
About Vote Everywhere: Launched in 2012, Vote Everywhere is a nonpartisan, experiential program that recruits, trains and supports emerging leaders at America's colleges and universities. Our student Ambassadors strengthen democracy by leading long-term voter engagement, public policy and social justice initiatives on college campuses around the country. Vote Everywhere is currently in 41 schools in 19 states with 104 student Ambassadors and is rapidly growing.
