Founded in 2014, Women Engaged works towards racial, economic, and reproductive justice through two key programs: the "WE Vote. WE Rise!" voter engagement program, and the Women's Rights program.

Position Overview

Women Engaged is seeking an experienced Civic Engagement Campaign Manager to oversee the Get Out the Vote effort of "WE Vote. WE Rise!"including Election Day election protection and exit poll surveying work. This is a full-time temporary position ideally starting October 3, 2016 (or ASAP) and ending January 6, 2017. 

 

Requires Metro-area driving primarily within three cities:  Atlanta, East Point and College Park, 

as well as working weekend hours during GOTV period.  The CECM leads a phone and field canvass team of 20 people including three team captains; and join the field team in support and recruit new door and phone canvassers as necessary. 

 

The position requires experience using Voter Activation Network (VAN) Database to create and cut turf, conduct analysis/quality control, data entry, and create reports. 

 

The CECM will monitor a field budget and ensure their teams have necessary supplies to perform their job.  They'll work with the Executive Director to complete final reports of GOTV campaign, and represent the ED and organization at relevant meetings if needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

In consultation with the Executive Director:

·       Recruitment for canvass team members as needed to maintain capacity through Election Day,

·       Campaign implementation and management, and weekly reporting and goal-setting,

·       Post-Election Day: Work with ED to complete 4th quarter report and create a team evaluation,

·       Perform core administrative duties including budget and database management, and payroll for temporary employees,

·       Social Media: posting to "WE Vote. WE Rise!" Facebook / Twitter about issues relevant to WE,

·       Voter Database development; produce, use and track appropriate data; reporting and quality control systems statewide.

 

Preferred qualifications include:

·       BA/BS college degree in a related field,

·       Personal integrity, and understanding of the importance of credibility with community partners, and dedication to the mission of Women Engaged,

·       Excellent time management,

·       Ability to work with rural and urban communities, particularly Black communities, on voter engagement and social justice issues,  

·       3+ years campaign, GOTV and/or canvassing experience, including community, labor, student, faith-based or related organizing experience,

·       Experience working in a fast-paced, culturally diverse non-profit environment on progressive campaign issues,

·       Experience with Voter Activation Network and spreadsheet programs required,

·       Ability to work long hours, nights and weekends as needed.

 

COMPENSATION -- This is a temporary, FT independent contractor position.  Compensation is very competitive and commensurate with experience.  Candidate must be located in or willing to relocate to Atlanta, GA temporarily and immediately.
