Western Workers Organizing Committee , WWOC Position Title: Bilingual English/Spanish Canvasser Hires for this position have the opportunity to become Organizers Location: Positions are available in Sacramento, CA; Oakland, CA; San Diego, CA and San Jose, CA The Fight for $15 campaign demands a $15 living wage and the right to form a union without retaliation for all fast food workers. It is one of the largest and most exciting organizing campaigns for low wage workers in the country. Main duties are to recruit fast food workers to join the fight for $15 and a union and develop leadership to create worker power in fast food restaurants. 8 week trial period at $15 an hour with the opportunity to move to an organizer position sooner based on performance $25 a week phone stipend, $50 a week gas reimbursement Potential to be hired for salaried position starting at $48,000 + $4,800 car allowance + $1,200 phone + full benefits No prior organizing experience needed. Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking capability is required. We will consider candidates who are monolingual Spanish. Must have a reliable insured car and valid driver's license.
