Ambassador Program Coordinator - Southern California
Founded by two campaign veterans with decades of experience running and winning grassroots organizing campaigns, 50+1 Strategies is looking for talent to build on a successful track record that includes victories for Barack Obama, Senator Cory Booker, Planned Parenthood, and the Golden State Warriors. We're hiring a Regional Organizing Coordinator based in Los Angeles as part of a statewide advocacy campaign for stem cell research.
This two-year-long effort is focused on building a new generation of Ambassadors for stem cell research. Our Ambassador program is made up of committed volunteer advocates from across California who deeply believe that stem cell research can change people's lives.
As Program Coordinator for Southern California, you will oversee all outreach and organizing efforts in the southern half of California. Day to day activities will include volunteer recruitment and training; responsibility for meeting or exceeding all regional goals and metrics; regular reporting to campaign leadership; and ongoing strategic support for the advocacy effort. This position will require regular travel to various locations across California.
Responsibilities:
- Execute and implement an ambitious, volunteer recruitment plan
- Recruit, train, and provide ongoing support to up to 100 volunteer Ambassadors
- Building a strong community that emphasizes empowering patient advocates
- Plan and execute regular volunteer training events
- Manage travel logistics for Northern California-based staf, and volunteers
- Other duties, as required
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years political or issue organizing experience required
- Highly organized and impeccable attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Previous experience in training volunteer leaders preferred
- Ability to work remotely or with little supervision
- Comfortable with long or irregular hours
- Passionate about people-centered, metrics-driven work
