Overview:

A 2017 mayoral campaign in the southwestern US is looking for a Field Director to begin June 15th. This position will run through the 2017 election.


The Field Director will be responsible for the entire field infrastructure of the campaign, including hiring, training, and managing organizers, fellows and volunteers. The Field Director will implement a comprehensive, data-driven field plan. Additional responsibilities include identifying and achieving voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals, and building daily reports from the persuasion stage through GOTV. The Field Director will report to the Campaign Manager.


Responsibilities:

· Executing and implementing a comprehensive, data-driven field plan focusing on three phases: IDs, persuasion, and GOTV

· Maintain and manage the field program budget in collaboration with consultants and the Campaign Manager

· Set, meet, and exceed benchmarks for voter contact, volunteer recruitment, grassroots engagement, and GOTV

· Recruiting, training and managing a staff of campaign organizers and volunteers

· Management of the campaign voter database (VAN)

· Maintaining a professional campaign culture with an emphasis on building out best practices based on conditions on the ground and accountability to goals and metrics


Qualifications:

· Applicants must be highly organized and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment

· Minimum of two cycles of field experience, including early vote programs, doors and phones, and coalition building

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Strong ability to train and produce high performing organizers and volunteer leaders and team members

· Votebuilder (VAN) proficiency, including database management, list building, targeting, and excellent staff and volunteer training skills

· Detail-oriented self-starter with an ability to be self-correcting

· Ability to manage an accountability structure for program as a whole and for individual staff and volunteer team members

· Strong leader with proven ability to motivate staff to exceed goals

· Ability to meet deadlines on multiple concurrent tasks
