Kathleen Williams, thrice elected to the Montana House of Representatives, is running for Montana's lone seat in the U.S. Congress. One seat, one voice to represent one million Montanans. POSITION TITLE: Campaign Manager

REPORTING TO:  Kathleen Williams, Candidate

LOCATION: Bozeman, Montana

SALARY AND BENEFITS: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, reimbursement for travel.

Qualifications:

      Commitment to Kathleen Williams Campaign through the 2018 election;

      Prior campaign experience;

      Understanding of campaign planning, including: budget, fundraising, field, communications, political, and candidate management;

      Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and written and verbal communication skills;

      Knowledge of current issues and events in which the campaign or candidate is involved;

      Ability to manage diverse staff and work on multiple simultaneous priorities in a fast-paced, team environment;

      Highly organized with keen attention to detail;

      Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends on a regular basis;

      Knowledge of and experience with the Montana political landscape preferred;

      Experience with NGP and VAN software preferred;

      Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience;

      Working well under pressure and handing stress;

      Reliable transportation

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

      Oversee day to day operations of the campaign;

      Serve as main point of contact for candidate, keep candidate informed of campaign activities, and manage candidate to maximize candidate's time.

      Hire, train, and supervise paid staff, including Communications Director, Finance Director, Campaign Assistant (jointly with Finance Director), interns, fellows, volunteers, and others – including managing HR paperwork, decisions, and issues (in coordination with compliance consultant);

      Oversee contact, agreements, and execution of work product of campaign consultants;

      Facilitate team calls and other staff/consultant meetings as necessary;

      Develop and track campaign budget;

      Oversee development and execution of finance plan with state staff and national consultants – including PACs, Labor, events, mailings, email, call-time, donor meetings, etc.;

      Oversee development and execution of Communications Plan and all messaging and communications materials and strategies (pro-Williams and anti-Gianforte), in coordination with the Communications Director;

      Oversee research, polling, tracking, and all paid and earned media, in coordination with the Communications Director;

      Serve as on-the-record spokesperson for Kathleen Williams for Montana;

      Develop and oversee, in coordination with MDP Coordinated Field Director, the budget and program for persuasion and GOTV field operations during the general election;

      Develop and oversee, in coordination with MDP Native Vote Coordinator, the Native Vote Program in the general election;

      Serve as primary point of contact for elected officials, Montana Democratic Party staff and EBoard, community leaders, local organizations/constituency groups, DCCC, Emily's List, and other allies;

      Staff the candidate at events as necessary and/or attend events on her behalf;

      Create memos, as necessary, for candidate;

      Create systems, database protocol, and workflow expectations for all aspects of Campaign operation;

      Perform other duties as assigned.

      20% Candidate Management

      20% Scheduling

      20% Communications and Research

      15% Fundraising

      15% Field

      10% Management of other staff, consultants, Party staff, and other interested parties
