Position Description – Deputy Finance Director
Overview
The Deputy Finance Director will be tasked primarily with fundraising, although other work in political engagement, constituency outreach, and communications may be required. The DFD will be based in Columbus, OH and report to the Finance Director.
Duties & Responsibilities
The DFD position is full-time. Given the nature of campaign work and travel, expect to work
long hours and weekends. Candidates should have access to a reliable vehicle.
Plan and execute fundraising events across Ohio
Identify hosts for fundraising events and build successful fundraising events -- both low-dollar grassroots house parties, and high-dollar events.
Cultivate and develop relationships with top donors and allied groups across Ohio
Build relationships with and secure endorsements from traditional and non-traditional stakeholders.
Staff candidate during call time when assigned by Finance Director
Work with Finance Director, Special Assistant, and interns to identify prospects for call time.
Assist in tracking results, ensuring call time follow up, and chasing pledges.
Work with Finance Director and Special Assistant to ensure all necessary NGP data entry and maintenance is completed
Qualifications
Prior work on political campaigns, particularly in finance roles and with a considerable understanding of the NGP database
Familiarity with Ohio's political environment
Experience managing others
Excellent writing skills
Ability to learn quickly and take direction
Pay
Pay will be commensurate with experience. A benefits package is offered through the Ohio Democratic Party.
