A nationally targeted Democratic Congressional race in Central Texas is seeking Field Organizers. The candidates must be located in or willing to relocate to Austin or San Antonio, TX for the duration of the campaign. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 cycles of experience as a field organizer or fellow, is a selfstarter, and enthusiastic about growing professionally in political campaigns. The Field Organizer will report to the Field Director and will be responsible for personal and programmatic goals. The individual will have excellent communications skills and should enjoy working with people.
-- Responsibilities:
- Facilitate volunteer recruitment activities and ensure that recruitment goals are met or exceeded.
- Ensure successful training and management of all volunteers.
- Ensure canvass teams maintain accurate and reliable data.
- Provide the Field Director with daily quantitative and qualitative reports.
- Meet personal voter contact goals in pursuit of larger programmatic objectives.
Required Qualifications:
- Willingness to work nights and weekends. 60+ hour weeks will not be uncommon.
- Willingness to go above and beyond – everyone on this campaign knocks doors, staffs events, and helps amplify the boss on social.
- Keen interest in Democratic politics and willingness to learn and grow
- Strong written, communication, research, & interpersonal skills, attention to detail
- Familiarity with Google Docs and Microsoft Office tools
- Strong public presence and confident interpersonal style
- Access to a laptop and car
Preferred but Not Required:
- Familiarity with VAN
Job Details: Salary is $2500/month plus a monthly stipend for health insurance and cell phone. This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone looking to work on a high-profile campaign in 2018 and/or recent college graduates who want to gain valuable campaign experience. Should the campaign be successful in the Primary, our first Field Organizers will become candidates to be promoted to Regional Field Director in the general election. The Regional Field Director will then be responsible for the management and operation of their own team of 4-5 paid organizers, who will take on the responsibilities listed above.
