Candidate in primary race for State Delegate in Anne Arundel County (MD-30(A)) seeks a self-starter, team player to develop and supervise the execution of a campaign field plan and manage the candidate's daily schedule. The candidate is progressively oriented, is a strong advocate for the Chesapeake Bay and public education, and has signed a fundraising/strategy firm that will consolidate most campaign consulting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with candidate and campaign consultants to develop and oversee the campaign field plan
- Recruit, train, and manage volunteers to grow a grass-roots campaign
- Create walk lists for the candidate and campaign volunteers
- Collect, organize, and enter all voter contact data on a daily basis
- Communicate regularly with campaign leadership and submit timely voter contact reports
- Plan and supervise campaign events
- Manage the candidate's daily schedule
- Attend some events and meetings with the candidate
- Assist the candidate in developing and fostering positive relationships with community leaders, civic action groups, and other campaigns.
Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize, act independently, and think creatively
- At least one cycle of campaign field experience desired
- Ability to quickly develop proficiency with VAN with training
- Applicant should have strong organizational skills, a valid driver's license, and access to a vehicle and personal laptop.
- Applicant should work well with an experienced core team and consultants, and be capable of assuming a leadership role with volunteers.
