Blueprint Interactive is a full-service digital agency that provides top-shelf strategy, targeting, creative, and advertising for a variety of political campaigns, non-profits, and other organizations. We're a small, energetic, and occasionally weird team who have been churning out some kick-ass projects fighting for women's health, racial equality, the environment, and much, much more.
JOB DESCRIPTION
It will be love at first sight if you are super-duper creative, quick on your feet (and with a mouse!), crave learning new skills, and obsess over serving up pixel-perfect perfection. As a Junior Designer, the candidate will be working closely with Blueprint's design staff to support the creation of landing pages, websites, digital ads, and even some video and email projects.
We are looking for someone to join us through the November 2018 election cycle who is a bright, creative mind that can jump right into projects and hit the ground running, has a killer portfolio, and is excited to gain some agency experience. You will need the ability to take existing designs and styles and apply them to new pieces, make edits and changes to work that is in the production cycle, and come up with original ideas and concepts.
REQUIREMENTS
- Background in web design or other creative field
- Working knowledge of designing intuitive and effective web layouts
- Ability to apply existing designs and concepts to new pieces and projects
- An understanding of color, typography, and composition
- Being cognizant of your design decisions vs. just pushing pixels around (Why did you place the object where you did vs. someplace else? Why did you use this color?)
- Can handle multiple tasks/assignments and anything else we may throw at you!
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to take and apply direction and constructive feedback
- Comfortable with design standards like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign
BONUS (BUT NOT REQUIRED) SKILLS
- Programming/coding experience
- Illustration and rendering vector graphics
- Video editing and motion graphics
- Print and identity design
- Yo-yo or juggling skills
