Job Description - Iowa House Democrats Regional Campaign Directors

Overview

The Iowa House Democrats are seeking resumes for qualified candidates interested in serving as Regional Campaign Directors. The ideal candidate is a disciplined, energetic, adaptable, and outgoing person that has the work ethic to motivate candidates, volunteers, and interns.


This is an excellent position for someone looking for Iowa experience prior to the 2020 1st in the Nation Iowa Presidential Caucus. An Iowa House Democrats regional director will not only make contacts in the field throughout the region he or she is responsible for, they will also build relationships with campaigns up and down the ballot, Democratic allies, donors, left-leaning organizations targeting Iowa, campaign consultants, legislative members and staff, and party leaders and staff.

Responsibilities

A Regional Campaign Director will be responsible for managing all aspects of targeted campaigns within his or her region of the state. Potential duties include:

  • Overseeing and in some cases managing day-to-day campaign operations including finance, field, communications, events, and candidate management

  • Assisting campaigns in executing finance and field plans and holding campaigns accountable to goals.

  • Guiding candidates through fundraising from individuals, organizations, and PACs

  • Building and coordinating paid media shoots including photoshoots and video shoots with the Iowa House Democrats consultant team

  • Acting as the liaison between the state house campaigns and the Iowa House Democrats and consultant team

  • Working with Democratic allies and organizations to coordinate finance and field operations


Requirements

Qualified candidates must have a strong work ethic and be adaptable to a dynamic and demanding work environment with long hours, seven days a week through Election Day. Candidates should also have:

  • At least one to two cycles of campaign experience

  • Proficiency with VAN/Votebuilder, NGP, Microsoft Office, and Google Drive

  • Access to a car, laptop, and cell phone
