FIELD ORGANIZER
Job Description The Iowa Democratic Party is seeking experienced and enthusiastic Field Organizers to join the Campaign for Iowa. Organizers will be responsible for managing party outreach, as well as recruiting and leading robust volunteer organizations to execute on voter mobilization efforts within their turf. Field Organizers will be able to gain invaluable political and organizing experience in this important state ahead of the 2020 presidential caucuses. Organizers will work under the direction of their respective Regional Field Director. Duties include but are not limited to:
● Building and managing a robust volunteer organization.
● Developing relationships with county party officers, local activists, and political leaders.
● Planning and managing direct voter contact, earned media, and principal events.
● Training volunteers on messaging for direct voter conversations to build relationships with voters and reach voter contact goals.
● Executing a metrics-driven voter turnout program in the geographic area assigned.
● Conducting outreach to diverse constituency, political, and issue groups. Requirements:
● Experience working for political campaigns preferred, but not required.
● Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
● Excellent listening skills and ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally.
● Strong management and interpersonal skills.
● Disciplined in setting and achieving measurable goals, managing teams, and coordinating between multiple stakeholders. ● Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
● Capacity and desire to work in a fast-paced setting, with long hours.
● Laptop with ability to connect to Wi-Fi.
