The Florida Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee is seeking qualified Campaign Managers for targeted State Senate races for the 2018 election cycle. As 2018 has unfolded it has become clear that many State Senate seats are competitive. This is an opportunity to participate in a dynamic election cycle in a state that has national implications in regard to redistricting. If you are coming off a congressional primary this is unique opportunity to continue to manage this cycle.
Ideal Applicants have at least one cycle of experience managing either a congressional or top targeted state legislative race and an additional cycle as either a field director or finance director. Campaign managers must have experience managing multiple staff including a finance director and field director. In addition candidates must have the ability to create a comprehensive campaign plan that integrates both finance and field plans and coordinates both spending and vote goals with a comprehensive paid communications plan.
Responsibilities
Creation of a comprehensive campaign plan including paid communications plan, finance plan and field plan
Management of candidate including scheduling and staffing of campaign events
Supervision of finance staff and facilitating the staffing of call time and fundraising events when necessary
Management of earned media and social media. Coordinating press events and ensuring that all outbound communication reflects poll tested messaging
Supervision of field staff and ensuring that a comprehensive volunteer GOTV effort is carried out to targeted voters.
Creation and supervision of budget
Coordination of all outbound paid communication
Necessary Skills
A comprehensive understanding of both NGP and VAN
A comprehensive understanding of both Google Suite and Microsoft Office - particular competency in both excel and google sheets is required
Understanding of paid communication including mail, tv and digital - Managers will be required to coordinate weekly consultant calls.
Understanding of electoral math (win number)
Ability to oversee the creation of a comprehensive field plan
Ability to oversee the creation of a comprehensive finance plan
Job Requirements
One cycle of experience as campaign manager and one cycle of experience as either a field director or finance director.
Willingness to relocate to Florida for the duration of the 2018 electoral cycle
Willingness to work until a task is completed
Access to reliable transportation
