Veracity Media is a progressive digital strategy and political consulting firm based in Washington D.C. We're ramping up for Congressional campaigns, Statewide races, as well as down-ballot races all across the country, and are looking for interns to play an active role.
Built by a team with a social-impact vision, Veracity helps clients get their message out and engage their communities more directly and cost-effectively than they ever could before. We believe in making the strategies and tools behind the most successful professional online campaigns of the day accessible to all of our clients, and our partners and team bring a rare mix of experience in the areas of grassroots political campaigns, government and organizational administration, website development, messaging and online strategy to the projects we work on.
We're looking for several politically and technically savvy interns who are interested in digital media, communications, political advocacy and online organizing. At Veracity, you'll gain first hand experience consulting for U.S. House and Senate campaigns as well as smaller, local races, plus non-profit advocacy organizations of all kinds.
If you like writing, spend too much time on social media, and are passionate about politics and advocacy, then this internship is for you. We're looking for outgoing, creative individuals with strong writing and researching skills who like to work in teams but can also take initiative and work independently. Technical skill sets such as HTML, CSS, Javascript, Photoshop, Google Adwords/Analytics, GIS, or data analysis are a plus.
Intern responsibilities include:
- Content drafting for clients - writing emails, Facebook posts, tweets, blog posts and other website content for clients
- Content drafting for Veracity - writing emails, Facebook posts, tweets, blog posts and other promotional materials for Veracity; documenting the great work our team is doing every day and getting it out there
- Assisting with website content creation for campaign
Helpful Skills:
-Interest in progressive politics
-Meticulous attention to detail
-Strong writing, copyediting, and proofreading skills
-Ability to understand clients' messages and translate them into compelling content
-Ability to identify compelling imagery for clients' messages
-Competence conducting research to assist in crafting accurate copy
-Ability to work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment
-Familiarity with the American electoral system and current political and domestic issues
Interns will work out of Veracity's co-working space in Washington, DC. How many months your internship lasts and the hours you keep can be discussed, although once committed we'll ask interns to keep a regular schedule. Some work-from-home hours are an option. A monthly stipend is available for candidates interested in working 20 hours a week or more.
