With Republicans in control of the Texas legislature and the Governor's office, we've seen constant attacks on education, the environment, and hardworking families.
This November's election is our chance to take back power from the Republicans. We're building a Get-Out-The-Vote operation to ensure a Blue Wave of Democratic voters turns out to vote. We're hiring additional Assistant Field Directors immediately to help manage a large door-to-door voter contact canvass in Dallas County.
Now is the time to stand up, fight back, and build momentum for a historic election this November. We have a huge opportunity to get things back on track and counter the damage and divisiveness of the Trump administration, but we need to act now. And we need your help to do it!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Recruitment: Build a team of 50 canvassers by recruiting from within the local community. Identify and interview prospective staff and make hiring decisions.
- Staff Management: Teach canvassing and voter contact skills. Work with your staff in individual and group settings with a particular eye towards developing leaders. Cultivate a welcoming and motivating atmosphere.
- Canvassing: Canvass 3-4 times per week, train new and experienced staff in the field while knocking doors and talking to Democratic voters in must-win districts.
- Administration: Carefully track income and expenses. Handle the budget for your office. Process staff payroll. Maintain records for future organizing efforts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You're an excellent communicator with motivational skills, a very strong work ethic, and dedication to creating political change
- You make a great teammate who can tackle big goals in a high-stakes environment with enthusiasm and a sense of humor
- You're a confident leader with a proven ability to shoulder significant responsibility
- You're self-directed and able to take initiative
- Previous field or canvassing experience is a plus, and may qualify you for additional leadership positions
EXPECTATIONS:
- You're passionate about electing Democrats up and down the ticket, and you're willing to work hard to do it.
- You're ready to work long hours. From now through the election it will be 7 days a week with long hours every day. Hard work, but unlimited satisfaction when we win.
- You're adaptive and able to think on your feet. Campaigns will often present unexpected challenges day to day. Being able to confront and overcome those challenges while maintaining an even keel is critical to finding success in these positions.
LOCATIONS:
We are currently hiring for positions based out of Dallas. Additional positions are available in cities nationwide as new projects launch and grow. Currently hiring in MA, NY, PA, NC, GA, IL, CO, CA, TX, AZ and Washington, D.C. In order to make the largest impact possible, many directors will start in a city where we already have a presence for early training and experience before travelling to politically important swing districts to launch new offices. Relocation may be required.
