The campaign manager will report directly to the candidate, Phillip Niedzielski-Eichner, and will be responsible for the development and execution of a sophisticated campaign plan.
Fairfax County is divided into 9 magisterial districts, with a Supervisor (comparable to a County or City Council Member) elected to serve each one. A Board of Supervisor Chairperson is elected from the County at large.
Providence District is centrally located in Fairfax County, with an estimated population of 132,500. The district boundary extends from Fair Oaks Mall on the west to Seven Corners in the east, Tysons in the north and Mantua Subdivision/236/Little River Turnpike in the south. Because Tysons, Merrifield and Inova Hospital are located in Providence, the District is arguably the most economically significant for the County, if not the State.
The Providence Supervisor race will be one of the premier contests in the 2019 cycle, with at least three, if not four, candidates.
Niedzielski-Eichner was appointed in 2008 to the Obama Transition Team, before joining the Administration in 2009 as a senior executive in the Energy Department. He left the Administration in 2015 after serving as Chief of Staff to the NRC Chairman.
He is the Providence District Planning Commissioner. He is also a leader over the past four years in pursuit of police reform. He was twice-elected to the School Board and served for a year as its chairman. He also served on the Fairfax County Park Authority and Environmental Quality Advisory Council.
