Account Executive – National Division
BerlinRosen, a leading strategic communications firm, is looking for a new Account Executive to focus on economic and social justice work in our national division. In this position, you will help clients meet a broad range of campaign and communications goals in a changing media environment.
The position is ideal for candidates with 2-3 years of relevant experience in strategic communications, media relations, journalism, or related field. Excellent writing skills and media relations experience are a must. Strong candidates will have experience executing digital strategies for clients of all sizes, including email programs, social media and video.
The Account Executive will work with clients such as worker centers and unions, civil rights and racial equity groups and faith organizations focused on the intersection of racial and economic justice to improve the lives of working people, raise wages, address systemic inequalities in our economy and political system and hold some of the country's largest corporations accountable to workers and communities.
BerlinRosen's clients are at the forefront of progressive work around racial justice and civil rights, low-wage worker advocacy, women's economic security, voting rights, the environment, affordable housing, human rights, LGBT issues, health care, education, money in politics and ending mass incarceration.
You need to possess:
- Professional experience in fast-paced, high volume public relations firms, communications in progressive politics, non-profit communications, or media outlets;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills;
- Strong news sense and knowledge of the media;
- Experience managing media engagement for both rapid response and long lead stories;
- Experience writing for the web (website copy, social media posts, articles etc.);
- Excellent computer skills including Word, Excel, Powerpoint;
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;
- Problem solving skills in a fast-paced environment;
- Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; and
- A sense of humor!
Additional skills that are not required but will help you stand out as a candidate:
- Developing and/or executing content and digital strategies to support integrated campaigns;
- Proven ability to produce sharp, engaging writing for speeches and presentations; and
- Understanding of worker and civil rights movements.
