Position Summary:

The Research Department at the DCCC conducts opposition research projects, rapid response, proactive attacks on Republican incumbents and challengers, and helps campaigns with paid media, polling, policy questions, and other campaign activities. In this fast-paced office, the ability to multi-task while remaining detail-oriented is a must. For this position, previous opposition research experience is required, along with the ability to develop lines of attack on GOP candidates and execute opposition research and rapid response projects.

Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Helping to build, train, and manage a 15-20-person Research Department;
  • Developing rapid response and long term research products against a wide range of Republican incumbents and candidates, as well as editing content generated by other members of the Research Department;
  • Working directly with campaigns and other departments at the DCCC to develop and implement both earned and paid messaging strategy in House races across the country;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Previous political campaign research experience required, including at least two cycles of experience working with opposition research, rapid response or similar experience;
  • Previous experience managing staff is required, and experience managing researchers is strongly preferred;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Strong editing skills, focusing on strategic content as well as grammar and formatting;
  • Self-motivation, as well as a strong commitment to teamwork;
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines a must.
  • Spanish proficiency is a plus, but not required.
