About the DCCC: The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) is the official national Democratic campaign committee charged with electing Democrats to the U. S. House of Representatives. The DCCC recruits Democratic candidates and supports Democratic campaigns – both challengers and Democratic incumbent Members – with a variety of services including field operations, fundraising support, communications assistance, research support and management consulting. In addition, the DCCC's Independent Expenditure supports these campaigns with television, radio and other voter contact efforts. The DCCC is supported by the contributions of individuals and organizations, along with Democratic Members, from throughout the country. We look for talented and hard-working campaign professionals who are committed to electing more Democrats and taking back the House majority.

Position Summary: The Research Department at the DCCC assists campaigns with opposition research projects, rapid response, proactive attacks on Republican incumbents and challengers, policy issues, and other activities.  In this fast-paced office, ability to multi-task while remaining detail-oriented is a must. There is an administrative component to this role. Previous opposition research and/or tracking experience is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist the research department as it prepares extensive research documents compiling information from votes, news clips, campaign finance reports, travel records, personal financial disclosures and research databases, as well as in-depth research analysis of state legislative and local governmental voting records;
  • Video and audio record candidates and members of Congress while they are in the Washington, DC Metro Area;
  • Analyze and transcribe video and audio recordings;
  • Coordinate interdepartmental and third-party collaborations and communications
  • Other duties as needed;

Skills and Qualifications:

  • An entrepreneurial work ethic and ability to proactively solve problems;
  • Strong commitment to teamwork;
  • Possess the initiative to work independently and follow through on all projects;
  • Organizational skills and ability to meet strict deadlines required;
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills;
  • Familiarity with Lexis-Nexis, or interest in learning;
  • Desire to help elect Democrats.
