Digital Marketing Coordinator
The Climate Reality Project, a nonprofit organization founded by former Vice President Al Gore, is offering a full-time position for a Digital Marketing Coordinator to work with the Communications team. This position will play an integral role in a fast-paced organization that combines strategic campaigns and cutting-edge communications to win concrete victories on the path to solving the climate crisis.
General Overview: The Digital Marketing Coordinator will work closely with members of the Communications and Advancement teams, and outside vendors to execute day-to-day activities for Climate Reality's strategic, fast-paced online fundraising and marketing programs. This position will be responsible for writing and sending email blasts, answering inquiries from online donors, assisting in email targeting and donor list segmentation, and assisting in managing donor records in Climate Reality's customer relationship management (CRM) system and email marketing platform.
The Digital Marketing Coordinator should be a strong writer, have exceptional attention to detail, have some experience working with email marketing software and/or databases, and be comfortable writing for and working with social media platforms. This position will report to the Senior Digital Marketing Manager on a nine-person Communications team.
Climate Reality has offices in Washington, D.C. and Boulder, Colorado. The location of this position is in the Washington DC office.
Duties and Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
· Writing, building, and sending email blasts via Climate Reality's marketing tools (Marketo and Salesforce).
· Assisting with targeting emails and building list segmentation for online donors and non-donors on Climate Reality's email list.
· Building donation web pages and assisting with website production for online fundraising purposes.
· Writing compelling social media copy and managing online fundraising efforts on Facebook and Twitter.
· Managing donor records, opportunities, and correspondence including established procedures and testing for clean data.
· Producing reports, dashboards, and build queries that accurately meet the criteria outlined by internal clients, as well as help to define those criteria.
· Responding to all supporter requests and donation or service issues in a timely, professional, and enthusiastic manner via multiple channels, including but not limited to phone, email, text messaging, and live chat.
· Assisting with tracking and reporting on analytics for email marketing, social media, and website performance as it relates to fundraising.
· Assisting with managing inventory for premium gifts for online donors.
· Assisting with marketing automation efforts to cultivate online donors.
· Managing imports/exports between databases and third-party websites.
· Assisting with data maintenance and hygiene for email supporters and online donors in CRMs.
· Coordinating with the Communications team and external vendor on online fundraising strategy and attend weekly planning meetings.
· Contributing to brainstorming sessions to develop campaign ideas and improve online fundraising efforts.
· Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
· Interest in advocacy work and solving environmental issues.
· Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
· Talent for writing clear and compelling email, web, and social media copy.
· Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working in customer relationship management (CRM) systems and/or email marketing software, such as Marketo, Hubspot, Engaging Networks, or similar.
· Basic HTML and CSS knowledge.
· Minimum 1-2 years of experience working in content management systems (CMS), such as Drupal or Wordpress.
· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
· Excellent attention to detail, working knowledge of quality control processes and procedures, demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex problems independently.
· Demonstrated proficiency with relational database and spreadsheet programs.
· Familiarity with and desire to learn more about email best practices, including formatting, deliverability and spam, testing, and metrics.
· Comfortable in a demanding environment and adaptable to regular changes in priorities and workload.
· Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work with tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
· Familiarity with the Salesforce database.
· Experience with Marketo's marketing automation.
· Graphic design experience or interest in learning graphic design.
The salary range for this position is $42-48K.
