Campaign Manager needed for a highly competitive and flippable Virginia House of Delegate race in Suffolk, VA


Clink Jenkins for Virginia's 76th House of Delegates District is seeking a skilled, tenacious, and dedicated Campaign Manager. Clint Jenkins is the Chair of the Democratic Party of Virginia's 3rd Congressional District Committee and has been a strong advocate for the values of the Democratic Party of Virginia in the Hampton Roads community. Due to a recent court order on racial gerrymandering, the people of the 76th district will finally be able to have their voices heard in who represents them. The Campaign Manager will play a valuable role in flipping the critical 76th House District from red to blue, and winning a Democratic Majority in the Virginia State Legislature.


Applicants should demonstrate a commitment of Democratic values along with an understanding about how a campaign this size is structured and ran effectively.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the candidate's schedule, including but not limited to running call time and staffing the candidate at events

  • Manage the progress of the campaign

  • Work hand in hand with consultants and vendors to implement strategy for the candidate

  • Lead in the development of communication structures and reporting systems

  • Handle technical aspects of compliance and processing including making sure all deadlines are met

  • Train and manage interns and Staff

  • Plan and lead events to expand volunteer and voter involvement

  • Provide support to the candidate for all political strategy and communications

  • Assist with press statements, releases, candidate questionnaires, and other paperwork

Qualifications

  • Two or more  cycles of campaign experience; field and finance experience preferred

  • Familiarity with Virginia politics is preferred

  • Experience meeting deadlines, and the ability to manage many tasks simultaneously

  • Highly skilled with time and calendar management

  • Strong communication skills and ability to communicate priorities and expectations to staff

  • Ability to work evenings and weekends

  • Proficiency with Votebuilder/ NGP VAN

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google programs


This is a full-time position requiring a full-time commitment starting as soon as possible through November 2019. The position will be based in Suffolk, VA. Salary commensurate with experience.

Extensive travel throughout the 76th District and Commonwealth is to be expected; reliable transportation is a must
