Inslee for America is seeking a motivated Deputy Digital Director.

 

Position Summary: The primary responsibility of the Deputy Digital Director will be the development, management, and execution of our campaign's social media strategy. This position's responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, developing comprehensive social media plans, drafting copy, producing graphics, collaborating with our video and graphics team, creating, reporting on and evaluating performance metrics, and outreach and organizing with communities of online supporters. Additionally, this role will support the Digital Director in a broad range of areas from online fundraising to digital organizing, though this will not be its primary function. The Deputy Digital Director will also oversee staff and projects.

 

The ideal candidate is a someone who is creative, a strong writer, and a skilled people and project manager. 


Deputy Digital Director job responsibilities include:

 

      Develop and implement a strategic plan for social media content

      Draft high-quality, engaging graphic and written content for Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram

      Manage social media accounts and coordinate approval to ensure that content advances broader campaign goals

      Develop rapid response online content to capitalize on high-profile moments for the campaign or major developments in the national news

      Develop a voice guide that drives the tone of our online content and enforce it when necessary

      Develop and maintain a social media calendar that is reflective of the campaign's schedule and priorities but flexible enough to accommodate rapid response needs

      Identify and build relationships with online supporters, from climate leaders to grassroots organizers

      Collaborate with the Digital Director to establish and adjust internal approval processes as needed


Minimum requirement and job skills:

      4-6 years of experience in a digital communications and/or media role, ideally with a high-profile political campaign or national advocacy group

      Outstanding written communication skills

      Familiarity with core graphic design principles is a plus. Basic fluency in graphic design software, including Adobe Photoshop and smartphone editing apps is preferred but not required.

      Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative analytics on major social media platforms

      Fluency in Facebook, Twitter, Medium, YouTube, and Instagram, including live video features on major platforms

      Basic understanding of the strategies and tools used in digital organizing

      Strong passion for progressive causes and issues – especially climate change

      Enthusiasm for political campaigns and ability to execute tasks within a team dynamic

      Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize tasks, learn quickly, and accept constructive criticism

Salary

Salary ranges between $5500 to $7000 per month, and is commensurate with experience.
