The Sylvester Turner for Mayor Campaign - Regional Field Director (Houston, TX)
The Sylvester Turner for Mayor Campaign is seeking full-time regional field director applicants for a data driven volunteer field operation. Regional field directors are responsible for executing the field plan and for supervising field organizers within their assigned region. Regional field directors will report directly to their assigned deputy field director.
Houston is the 4th largest city in the country and this election will be one of the most competitive and important races of the 2019 election cycle. The November 5th election is nonpartisan and should no candidate earn a majority of votes, will head to a runoff election in December. Those battle-tested in Houston this year will be ready to be on the front lines of competitive races across the country in 2020 and beyond.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Ensuring that all staff is properly trained and consistently productive throughout the day.
- Ensuring that daily, weekly, and monthly goals are met and exceeded.
- Ensuring that all required reporting is accurate and timely and that all regional data is entered on time.
- Monitoring regional metrics including flake rate, confirmation rate, knocks per shift, dials per shift, and average shifts per volunteer, and implementing rigorous systems to meet assigned goals associated with these metrics.
- Representing the campaign at community events and meetings.
Qualifications:
- At least one cycle of competitive field experience.
- Strong knowledge of Votebuilder/VAN.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work long and irregular hours in a fast paced, metrics driven work environment.
- Must have reliable access to a vehicle and a valid driver's license.
- Ability to meet deadlines under pressure while handling multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Strong coaching skills and abilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to successfully relate to voters and volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds.
