GBAO, a progressive DC-based public opinion research firm, is seeking a talented intern for a paid semester-long internship, starting in September. This is a great opportunity to learn about public opinion research from a team of experts with decades of experience in the field.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting background research on issues, candidates, and districts
- Proofreading and copy editing of documents such as questionnaires, memos, and presentations
- Ensuring quality control of the research process, including survey design testing and live research monitoring
The ideal candidate would be a junior or senior in college, a graduate student, or a recent college graduate who is hardworking, interested in progressive politics, and comfortable with Microsoft Office (particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). All candidates must demonstrate a strong attention to detail. Prior internships, political experience, a demonstrated interest in Democratic politics, and/or statistical backgrounds are preferred.
Minimum of 20 hours/week in our downtown DC office, mostly during the afternoon and evening hours. The intern is paid an hourly wage of $17, though college credit can be issued in lieu of, or in addition to, pay contingent on internship credit policies of the college in question.
