The Working Families Party is seeking a Philadelphia IE Director who will oversee a significant budget for independent expenditure activities in support of two progressive candidates running in the November 2019 Philadelphia City Council elections to win two "minority party" seats away from the Republicans. The Director will manage a small team overseeing a large field effort and paid communications program. The position runs through the November 15, 2019 election and will report to WFP's national political team, and work in deep collaboration with in-state allies and partners.

Key Job Responsibilities
Hire, train, and manage staff for field and digital efforts
Monitor progress, benchmarks, and deliverables in relation to strict, time-bound goals
Oversee 25-40 person paid canvass, including managing canvass director, requiring close familiarity with deep canvassing best practices, data management and accountability
Oversee associated efforts through text campaigns, requiring close familiarity with peer-to-peer best practices, efficacy evaluation, data management and accountability
Work in collaboration with national team to design responsive and relevant messaging to events on the ground in real time
Regularly update and include allies and partners, requiring adept political skills and initiative
Generally, know when "stuff is going wrong" and have the gumption to raise the flag early to assure speedy resolution and collaboration to protect resources and campaign mission
Know how to lift people up after a tough day, deliver relevant and healthy feedback and keep staff and allies engaged and positive
Provide real-time qualitative and quantitative reports on how the campaign is progressing in order to inform ideas for course correction
Key Job Requirements
A commitment to progressive values; a dedicated work-ethic and a desire to win
Previously campaign experience and leadership in Philadelphia highly desired
Proficiency in modern campaign tactics, with a demonstrated history of success
Experience hiring, training and evaluating staff
Campaign data experience
Basic understanding of and willingness to follow the rules of Independent Expenditures
